The Plant: Almena's Store Gets a Ranch Brand Overhaul

The store at 741 Garfield St S in Almena is not the store it was a year ago. Starting in late summer 2025 we gutted the retail space at Almena Meat Company and rebuilt it top to bottom. By November it was open as a Ranch Brand Meat Company location. We call it The Plant, because it's the only Ranch Brand store attached to the facility where every cut is made.

The old store had served Almena for a long time and it showed. It was overdue for an update, and we figured if we were going to put our name on it, we'd do it right. So we started over. Sheetrock came down and barnwood went up. The popcorn ceiling came out and corrugated tin went in. New tile floors, new cabinets and countertops, and a full run of black and stainless freezers and coolers replacing the old units. New layout so the counter is easier to shop and the cases are easier to see into.

What didn't change: Almena Meat Company is still Almena Meat Company. Custom processing for farmers and hunters runs the same as always, out of the same building, with the same crew. The retail side just carries a different name on the door now, and that name means the beef in the case comes from our ranches and nowhere else.
