Retail Associate
$15.00/hour to start·18 to 32 hours a week·Weekends required
The Job
You're the person at the counter. You ring people up, help them find what they came for, and tell them what's good this week. You keep the shelves full and the store clean. Some days that's a Saturday rush with a line out the door. Some days it's a quiet Tuesday afternoon restocking the case and wiping down the deli.
Here's the part that's different from most retail jobs: the beef in the case came from our own cattle and our own plant. Customers ask about it, and you get to know the answers. Nobody expects you to know meat on day one. We'll teach you the cuts, the story, and how to talk about it.
What You'll Do
- Run the register and take care of customers at the counter
- Help at the meat and deli counter: weigh, wrap, answer questions
- Talk with customers about Rump's, Ranch Brand, and what's in the case
- Restock product and keep displays full and organized
- Keep the store, restrooms, and shared spaces clean and presentable
- Dishes, trash, light cleaning, and whatever else the shop needs that day
Schedule
Saturday and Sunday availability is required. No exceptions on this one; weekends are when the store is busiest.
Monday to Saturday: 9:00am to 1:30pm or 1:30pm to 6:00pm
Sunday: 10:00am to 3:00pm
Roughly 4 to 7 shifts a week, 18 to 32 hours. Weekday shifts are set based on your availability and what the store needs. We build the schedule ahead, and we keep it.
Who Fits
You show up when you say you will. That's most of it.
You like people and you're comfortable talking to strangers all day. You'd rather stay busy than stand around. You notice when something's out of place and fix it without being asked.
Retail, restaurant, deli, meat counter, or customer service experience is a plus. None of it is required.
You need to be 18 or older. That's because of the slicer and the deli equipment, not because we don't want to hear from you.
